Investit Intelligence is hosting its next Winter Conference - presenting the research you voted for in July and leading an interactive discussion on each topic. The three research papers we will present are:

The Role of Operational Risk and Compliance - The risks associated with a greater use of technology and increased industry regulation are just two of the challenges that face investment management firms. We look at how compliance and operational risk functions are structured within firms to meet these challenges and how they can be used as business enablers. We also examine the technology solutions available and the possibilities for outsourcing.

Corporate Actions - Corporate actions projects have historically taken a back seat in investment management firms and hold a low profile, until an error throws them into the spotlight. We highlight current and best practice in corporate actions technology, and analyse the profile the corporate actions team has within the firm. We provide the know-how to enable businesses to make an informed decision on the automation of corporate actions processing.

Client Reporting and Performance - The UK pension fund market has increased pressure on investment management firms to provide consolidated and/or bespoke reporting of new, complex products such as LDI and 130:30 funds. We analyse the current market practices for reporting including the valuation report and investment review. We also provide the guidelines and indications for what UK pension funds perceive to be best practice.
